You do not just go to the museum for its art and culture anymore, now you also go there for its gastronomy. The Confluences Museum combines different styles and is home to the Brasserie des Confluences. At its head are two-Michelin-starred chef Guy Lassausaie and Jean-Paul Pignol, Meilleur Ouvrier de France pastry and confectionery chef.
Their expertise comes through in every bourgeois-inspired dish, such as the snail pistou with baby purple artichoke, plaice fillet with steamed quenelles, razor clams stuffed with pine nuts and ginger, or the red berry pavlova. The people of Lyon have spoken, and the brasserie has become a gourmet institution, where one sees families having lunch on Sundays.
You should better make a reservation, especially if you want to enjoy the view of the Rhône. At teatime, you can also enjoy a pastry at the Comptoir Gourmand located on the terrace.
