PAOLO BASSO, A WORLD-CLASS SOMMELIER

Paolo Basso is one of the most refined palates in the world. He gained international renown in 1997 after being awarded the title of “Best Swiss Sommelier”. He went on to win the title of “Best European Sommelier” in 2010, and in 2013, he was crowned world champion.

Originating from Italy, Paolo Basso has worked in various restaurants with one or more Michelin stars. After many years of experience, he has become a specialist in rare and collectors' wines.

As a consultant for a number of hotel chains, and a member of the jury for renowned international wine competitions, Paolo Basso is passionate about sharing his knowledge. He is a professor at the Swiss Changins Wine School and the Worldsom Sommelier Academy in Bordeaux, France.
